Agent Charitable Fund

The Mission of the Farm Bureau of Michigan Agent Charitable Fund is to end hunger in Michigan. The Agent Charitable Fund is a donor-advised fund within the Michigan Foundation for Agriculture. John and Mellissa are both active volunteers within their community and a core value of their agency is commitment to their community. When asked to help start a program where agents all over the state would work together to start or fund programs to end childhood hunger, the agents were 100% on board and willing to help! Melissa was invited to join the ACF Committee the following year and has enjoyed the opportunity to help structure the committee and work alongside like-minded agents to fulfill the ACF’s mission. Melissa highly recommends to other agents to take and make the time to sit a term on this committee to gain a deeper understanding of exactly the impact the ACF makes. It has been incredibly rewarding for her personally and strengthened her bond with some other amazing agents around the state. Being a part of this committee has been a humbling experience as she has learned so much about food insecurity and how that impacts our children from their learning abilities to socialization with other children.
